Biography

Dr. Jennifer Gardy is a Senior Scientist at the British Columbia Centre for Disease Control, located in Vancouver, Canada, and she holds the Canada Research Chair in Public Health Genomics. Her laboratory uses pathogen genome sequencing as a tool for understanding both patient- and population-level trends in disease transmission, with a particular focus on tuberculosis. In addition to her scientific practice, she is an experience science communicator, working in television and print and teaching a graduate course on science and risk communication.
