Biography

Matthew Sorbara is an Assistant Professor in the Molecular and Cellular Biology Department at the University of Guelph (Canada).  He performed his undergraduate work at the University of Toronto (Microbiology) before completing his PhD at the University of Toronto with Dr. Dana Philpott in Immunology.  He completed his postdoctoral training with Dr. Eric Pamer, first at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and then the University of Chicago.  In September 2021, he established his research group at the University of Guelph to study the impact of genomic diversity between gut microbes on their contribution to colonization resistance.
