Roby Bhattacharyya



Roby Bhattacharyya MD PhD is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Infectious Diseases Division at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School and an Associate Member at the Broad Institute in the Infectious Disease and Microbiome Program. He is a practicing infectious disease physician at MGH with particular clinical interest in antibiotic-resistant infections and COVID-19. He also leads a research laboratory at the Broad focusing on antimicrobial resistance, transcriptional profiling of pathogens and patients, and rapid diagnostics. Roby grew up in the Chicago area, received his MD and PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of California at San Francisco, and did Internal Medicine residency, chief residency, and Infectious Disease fellowship training at MGH.
