Laurent Farinelli was the co-inventor in the mid 90s of the DNA clustering technology that was essential for the development of nextgeneration sequencing. Then, he founded Fasteris, a pioneering sequencing company based near Geneva. Fasteris was the first service provider in the world to acquire an Illumina sequencer in 2006 (then called Solexa).

Today, Fasteris provides services for research laboratories, industries and pharma clients as well as offering services in medical diagnostics. Fasteris shares co-author of more than 100 publications since 2007 and is cited in hundreds.
