Biography

In the early years of AJH’s research career, he was one of the key drivers in establishing the field of environmental DNA (eDNA) and today eDNA is utilised to explore a range of biological and ecological questions including environmental monitoring, pathogen detection and forensics. Currently my research predominantly focuses on applying molecular techniques like metagenomics to complex human tissue samples, ancient bones, as well as stool samples where I aim to describe phylogenomic histories as well as composition, regulation and distribution of genes, microorganism, phage’s, viruses and more.
