Jean-Philippe Lavigne is Professor of Microbiology, Head of the Department of Microbiology and Hospital Hygiene, University Hospital of Nîmes and University of Montpellier (France), director of the National Reference Center of Brucellosis, and Coordinator of the team Microbiota and chronic infections in Bacterial Virulence and Chronic Infections INSERM U1047, Nîmes. JPL participates in the Diabetic Foot Clinic Gard Occitanie and the regional center of complex osteoarticular diseases. He works on the physiopathology of different chronic infections and specialized in the understanding of the role of microbiotia and notably multidrug resistant bacteria in colonization/infection process during chronic wound infections.
