Biography

Laure Flurin studied medicine at the University of Bordeaux (France) and specialized in critical care and infectious/tropical diseases at the University Hospital of Guadeloupe (France). She is currently a Ph.D. student and an Instructor of laboratory medicine in the Infectious Diseases Research Laboratory at Mayo Clinic, MN (USA) under the direction of Dr. Robin Patel. Her research focuses on the application of targeted metagenomics for the diagnosis of infectious diseases in routine microbiology, with an emphasis on prosthetic joint infections and endocarditis.
