Biography

Ulrika Boulund is currently finalising her PhD in bioinformatics under supervision of Max Nieuwdorp at the Amsterdam Medical Centers (AMC) in the Netherlands. She obtained a MSc Eng in bioinformatics and systems biology at the Technical University of Denmark, during which she also spent a semester at the Seoul National University in South Korea. Her PhD is part of the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Innovative Training Networks (ITN), BestTreat, with a focus on the relationship between the gut microbiome, exercise and Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD). She is also working on numerous other projects during her PhD, including transcriptomic, metabolomic and genome-wide association studies of large cohorts.
